Why is Jesus Christ's race not important
Good day Beloveds
I have often heard people debate about whether Jesus was black or white. It is crazy to even say "was" because Christ still is. Most people focus on the physical and don't realize that it is mostly about the spiritual. Although the spiritual would affect the physical.
This starts at the beginning of earthly life when the whole world got corrupt due to the fall of mankind. Good judged Adam and Eve for their disobedience. Fortunately, because He is a merciful and gracious God, He made a promise that a woman's offspring would come and crush the serpent's head (destroy the devil's work.) That is when Jesus being human was first foretold(prophesied) by God. This was not through prophets but through God's own mouth. At that moment Jesus was the supernatural Word of God that spoke everything into existence. He had no physical body, He was fully spirit.
Genesis 1:3-4 NLT
[3] Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. [4] And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.
Genesis 1:15 NLT
[15] And I will cause hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Now God had to make sure this prophecy would happen. However, it would only be possible through humans who were righteous and obedient to God. At that time humans were consumed by sin and rejected God's righteous ways. He first dealt with them through the flood, but because He loves humanity so much He still preserved the species through Noah. God also preserved other creatures that could fit in the ark Noah built, by being obedient to God.
Why Noah? You may ask. Even though he had a sinful nature like all of humanity, Noah chose to be righteous. Every person has a choice of whether to do right or wrong. That is what made Noah and his family stand out from the rest of the people. The people lived to please their flesh over pleasing God. It's the same as the times we live in, many chose wrong while few chose right. Jesus said:
Matthew 24:37-39 NLT
[37] “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. [38] In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. [39] People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the great flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.
So the same reason why Noah, is the same reason why Abram, who later became Abraham. Imagine, the scriptures say that Noah was the only righteous and blameless man on earth at that time. This really brings tears to my eyes.
Genesis 6:9 NLT
[9] This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.
Abram was a descendant of Shem, Shem was Noah’s son and Noah was a descendant of Adam. Noah had three sons so why Shem? When Noah was drunk with wine and laid naked in his tent, his two sons Japheth and Shem covered his nakedness with a blanket without looking at him. Noah cursed Ham as he ridiculed him when he was naked but he blessed Shem and Japheth for their righteous act. According to Genesis 9:25-27, He blessed Shem more. I see this as the reason why God chose Abram who was a descent Shem.
Genesis 9:25-27 NLT
[25] Then he cursed Canaan, the son of Ham: “May Canaan be cursed! May he be the lowest of servants to his relatives.” [26] Then Noah said, “May the Lord, the God of Shem, be blessed, and may Canaan be his servant! [27] May God expand the territory of Japheth! May Japheth share the prosperity of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.”
Shem had many descendants, so why Abram? Abram obeyed God when instructed to leave everything and go where He would show him. Remember what I said: obedience and righteousness are what God looks for in a person. The world was repopulated through Noah’s sons; they all had many descents. Shem had many descents, so it could have been any of them. When God told Abram to leave everything, Abram could have hesitated and not obeyed God. This was a big ask.
Genesis 12:1 NLT
[1] The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.
How many of us would have obeyed this word if today God said to us, "Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father(mother*)’s family, and go to the land that I will show you?" Many of us would struggle to obey this instruction. However, Abram obeyed without hesitation or a second thought.
Genesis 12:4 NLT
[4] So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.
Even though this was a great ask, an even greater reward was attached to it. A promise was made and God can't lie so He always keeps His word.
Genesis 12:2-3 NLT
[2] I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. [3] I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
How would all the families on earth be blessed through Abram? This also referred to Ham and Japheth's descendants. Even though Ham's descendants were cursed, they would be blessed through Abram's obedience. All families would be blessed because Jesus would be Abraham's descendant.
Genesis 12:5-7 NLT
[5] He took his wife, Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all his wealth—his livestock and all the people he had taken into his household at Haran—and headed for the land of Canaan. When they arrived in Canaan, [6] Abram traveled through the land as far as Shechem. There he set up camp beside the oak of Moreh. At that time, the area was inhabited by Canaanites. [7] Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your descendants.” Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
Why did God give Canaan to Abraham? It goes back to the curse that Noah spoke to Ham, Noah cursed Canaan who was Ham's son. Genesis 9:25-27, Canaanites who are Canaan's descendants would be lower than the Israelites, they would be servants to the Israelites. Do you see how serious blessings and curses are?
Abram was also righteous, and blameless and he believed what God said to him, even though he had no proof that everything would happen. Now that's what we call faith. Most of us believe in God but we don't believe what He says. It is seen through how hard we try to accomplish things with our own strength.
Genesis 15:6 NLT
[6] And Abram believed the Lord and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.
Genesis 17:1-2 NLT
[1] When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. [2] I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.”
God made and kept a covenant with Abraham reminding him to always be faithful and blameless. We also need to remember that, that's the way our lives need to be, then we will attract God's blessings.
King David was a man after God's own heart. He was a descendant of Abraham, he came from the lineage of Judah, Judah was the son of Israel(Jacob) and Abraham's great-grandson. God made a promise to David that he would give him a descendant who is just and right, that would be Jesus. Jesus is the woman's offspring that God said would crush the serpent's head.
Jeremiah 33:15 NLT
[15] “In those days and at that time I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will do what is just and right throughout the land.
2 Samuel 7:12-16 NLT
[12] For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong. [13] He is the one who will build a house—a temple—for my name. And I will secure his royal throne forever. [14] I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do. [15] But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight. [16] Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.’”
Jesus wasn't Joseph's biological son because Jesus couldn't be conceived naturally through a man's seed. The seed was contaminated by sin and would cause him to sin because of his nature. By being conceived by the Holy Spirit Jesus would have the full nature of God and not of sin( fallen nature). Christ still had the nature of a man(flesh) as he was Mary's son. By this God shows us that whatever Jesus could overcome in his flesh, so can we. Even though Jesus wasn't Joseph's biological son his bloodline still counted as the bloodline of David. God gave Joseph the full right to be Jesus' father. Joseph was from the tribe of Judah and a descendant of David. Therefore the promise to David was fulfilled.

Through Christ God would forgive all of humanity for their sins, fulfilling what he spoke in Genesis 3:14. Redeeming all of humanity. Through one man's disobedience we were separated from God and through one man's obedience, we were reconciled to God. The spirit that lived in Jesus is the only thing that matters, God putting a part of Him(the Word of God) in a human body.
Romans 5:12-19 NLT
[12] When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. [13] Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as a sin because there was not yet any law to break. [14] Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come. [15] But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. [16] And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift led to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. [17] For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. [18] Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. [19] Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
Jesus' race doesn't matter because we are all descendants of Noah and Noah is a descedant of Adam. Through the obedience of Noah, humanity was preserved. Through the obedience of Abraham, all of humanity was blessed, through the obedience of Jesus all of humanity is saved.
Now start following the ways of Jesus, obey His commands, live a life of righteousness, and be blameless in all that you do. No matter your race, what matters is the spirit of God being inside of you. God gave us the Holy Spirit to help us live a life of repentance. Repentance is changing your mind and deciding that something is wrong, evil, or wicked. Then you stop doing it no matter how hard it is. That is called denying yourself.
Jesus is the only one who fully pleased God and by following Him as your role model, your Lord, a Teacher you will inherit eternal life just as He did. Remember it is not being Christian but living like Christ that matters. Your holy heart, mouth, mind, body, and life are your key to eternity. The more you become less like yourself and more like Jesus, you become more like God. Only those who are more like God can live in God's dwelling.
May the grace of God cover you, the blood of Jesus cleanse you and the power of the Holy Spirit transform you into a Holy being. In the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Sin did separate us from God and Obedience will reconcile us to God,to have a relationship with him.
ReplyDeleteI understand now that blessings and curses can be for generation to generation. Living righteously helps us to live and defeat sin just like Jesus did.
Abraham,Moses and Noah obeyed God and through them too many where blessed from generation to generation and I see that God used the people who choose him first those who believed without seeing those who had faith.
My Job is simple it's to repent,be obedient and follow in Jesus path or teachechings so that I may be rewarded with eternal life.i must change my mind from what I think I know and start believing without sins and wonders ,without dout ,I may trust in God fully and in the holy spiritwho is my helper to guide and lead me.
I want to spend eternity with our father and our my lord Jesus christ so I am choosing him over my flesh and over my flesh pleasures.Things of this world have no hold on me and I will defeat Satan and sin because the one who lives inside of me is greater than the one in the world.naked I came in and named I shall live this world so nothing matters but being the child of God and pleasing him from today I make him my priority and make my home in heaven .I trust and believe he will give me the strength to over come anything that comes my way..I yean for u God ..I know am selfish I pray u purify my heart
