Understand Ephesians 6:10-20 [The Armor of God]
Good day, Beloveds,
Have you ever considered how you can protect your life and your family? The truth is, you can’t. That’s because protection is not your responsibility; it is provided solely by God.
Many of us fail to realize that, in addition to human adversaries, we also face spiritual enemies. A common misconception among believers is that ignoring these spiritual entities will keep them at bay. In Ephesians 6:10-20, the Apostle Paul discusses these entities and explains how we can combat them. Here is a three-part teaching on the Armor of God and how to apply it practically in your life.
Before listening, please say this short prayer:
“Heavenly Father, thank You for leading me to this teaching. Please prepare my heart and mind to receive Your word. Help me to live according to these teachings in Jesus's name. Amen.”
Part 1: The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-12)
Part 2: The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-17)
Part 3: The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:18-20)
I hope this teaching helps you understand how the spiritual and physical realms operate. Remember, the people in your life are not the problem; focus on the true enemy.
Introspection
Have you ever thought, “If only this person could change, my life would be so much better?” This mindset means you see them as the enemy. Are there people you are angry with, to the point that you’ve vowed never to forgive them? This indicates you are focusing on the wrong enemy. While you are engaged in this conflict with a weak enemy, the true strong enemy is winning, wreaking havoc in your life, and you’re unable to confront him because you’re using the wrong weapons.
Do you trust the alarm system in your house or car? Do you rely on your dogs or insurance policy? Do you perform certain rituals to ensure you and your family are safe? If so, it may suggest that you lack trust in God’s protection. While it’s wise to have these measures in place, relying solely on them instead of on God is misplaced trust. If remedies, like muthi (herbs), give you a sense of security, it could imply that you believe creation is superior to the Creator, which is wrong.
Confession
Heavenly Father, I am sorry for trying to protect myself and my family according to worldly standards. I now understand that only Your full Armor can provide true protection. I apologize for viewing people in my life as enemies. Please grant me the strength to forgive them. Teach my heart and mind to accept the truth of Your word.
I am also sorry for trusting in my electric fence, dogs, rituals, alarms, security guards, physical strength, and other measures for protection. Help me to put all my trust in You alone.
Prayer
Father, please grant me the strength to wear Your full Armor. Let me not be selective about which parts matter more. Help me forgive everyone who has wronged me. Teach me to trust in Your protection and recognize that You are enough. Please transform my mind so that I no longer conform to the patterns of this world but embrace the mind of Christ. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
